Malcura – “Palais” Music Video

Filmed inside St. Kilda’s iconic Palais Theatre, this video is a creative collaboration with Melbourne filmmakers Miki Simankevicius, Darren Vukosinovic and Cameron Zayec; capturing the grandeur and majesty of the Palais Theatre, combined with the energy and intensity of Malcura’s live performance.

The song “Palais”, which features on Malcura (2016), was inspired by the band’s spontaneous guest appearance on the Palais Theatre stage alongside Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela during their 2015 Australian tour. In a tongue-in-cheek subplot, the video clip offers an alternative retelling of the Rodrigo y Gabriela show, with drummer Simon assuming the role of a theatre usher that dreams of taking the stage with his bandmates.
